I have just installed it on my iPad Air
That is **** poor, iOS 8 has been a complete mess from start to finish.
SNIP
Anybody who has found their battery life has gone to **** with this update might want to try going to Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > Fitness Tracking off.
My battery life has been awful for the past few days, phone has been dropping in chunks while in my pocket. What really ****** me off is the fact that Apple are now adding tons of background functionality while making the damn phones smaller.
They could quite easily make a phone that is 1mm thicker, offer a fair chunk more battery life, and nobody would physically notice a thing.
It didn't bother me as much before, but if I don't even use half of the stuff and I get awful battery life, how the hell will this work otherwise?

Well for whatever reason it has had a fairly noticeable effect. But I agree, logically it shouldn't have much of an effect at all, especially considering that the M* "co-processors" that are used for motion tracking have virtually no effect on battery life whatsoever. If you're having battery issues, you should check which apps are using the most battery, by checking: settings > general > battery usage...
Turning off health tracking will have minimal effect tbh.
Attempting to update it but it keeps telling me that it has failed
