The new carrier update FINALLY enables WiFi calling so it doesn't matter if your signal at home is bad.

As for 8.3, you'll get stuff like wireless carplay and more diverse emoji...

The diverse Emojis.... my life is now complete!
So does wifi calling work on all carriers now? (more interested if it is on 3 :p)

Ahhh, so that's what the carrier update last week on my work iPhone was...

As for Three - having WiFi calling as an App is a pain in the bum, therefore I don't use it. Needs integrating into the OS.

Is there anywhere else to download this apart from through iTunes? I'm on a 5Mbps connection and it says it's going take 18 hours

Is anyone's EE wifi calling actually enabled yet? I read it takes a while at their end to switch it on once you've set it in iOS?

I understand it will say something like "EEwifi" in the reception area of the top bar when it does?

I have it and it says that between the EE and wifi meter on the top bar.

The annoying thing is that it disables making calls via my ipad.

Yep, gave it a try last night and seemed to work as expected. At home I have pretty strong EE signal (4G and 3G) but it immediately went to WiFiCall not sure why.

This is one thing I can't really understand, why would you ever want to make a call through an iPad, surely it's too big? And if your phone is in range why not just use that?

1) LOL, you don't hold the iPad to your head! It's the same as taking a call on your Mac using the inbuilt microphone and speaker, like a Facetime call, but just audio.

2) Phone may be downstairs (or anywhere if it's on the same network) so it can be convenient to not have to run to find it.

Exactly - my iPhone lives on my desk at home whilst my iPad is on the sofa.

Once I get my Watch I will hardly need to move at all. :D
