iOS4 Bluetooth Keyboard Support

One of the features I've seen that will come to iOS4 (and iPhones) is bluetooth keyboard support like on the iPad. This would be great for sending SMS's while I'm at my computer, but it would be a pain to have a separate dedicated keyboard just for this. So, are there any smart devs who could make a small helper app for OSX whereby you can use your existing keyboard (I am thinking the built in one of a macbook) as a pseudo-bluetooth keyboard. There would then be a global keyboard shortcut (for example) that the helper app would detect and switch the built in keyboard to send info via bluetooth to the iPhone (which you would have already paired up to your mac). The same key combo would revert back.

Is this possible...?

A soft bluetooth keyboard.. an interesting idea.

My phone has iOS4 and it can see my laptop.. but it depends on how the profile is used.

It's possible, although you can only send messages and iOS makes the incoming text messages go straight to the iPhone messaging application.

The application could create the message without a problem however the user still has to then press the button on the iphone to send.
