Is it possible to sync your iDevice with itunes without having the usb cable connected?

Would be very keen to know if this was possible :p

Depends which iDevice you're on about, iTunes Wifi sync was a feature of iOS5, it works on the iPhone, and I assume it works on the iPod Touch and iPad2 also

 it's not difficult, when you plug in your iDevice select it from the left panel and the screen in the middle has some options like:

Open iTunes when xxxxx is connected
Manual sync

etc...

one option there should say something about wifi sync

yeah ive done all that, but i cant sync without the power cable attached
i want it to sync without it attached, and is it possible to view my iphone on itunes without the cable

ok, they are both on same network, but will not sync until pc is available

and forgive my ignorance but it says

Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network

i want to know is it possible without

When you plug your iDevices into the mains it will automatically sync, if it is not plugged in then you need to sync it manually either from itunes or on the device itself through settings app. So yes you can sync an iDevice without it being plugged into the mains, just not automatically.

it doesn't need to be plugged into power to sync. Apple said it does officially, but people have managed to do it without

Services:General:iTunes Wifi Sync... As above, it's only for it to 'automatically' sync that it needs to be plugged int.

Works fine for my with my iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, although can be a bit flaky from time to time.

Find it most useful with the iPad to be honest as, since it won't charge from a USB socket, I have the dock plugged into the mains charger and use WiFi to sync it.

Really? is that the iPad 1 or 2?

oh my gosh!

Connect the iDevice to the network via WiFi.
Plug it in via a cable.
Open iTunes
Tick the box that says "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi"
Unplug the phone, close iTunes and re-open it!

If this doesn't work then you have a problem with something else!

yep done all this, wont sync :(
