Ios7 jailbreak out

Take care with this guys, most things don't work properly Saurik (cydia developer) didn't even know about the release so nothing is ready.

Also it comes from Chinese backing so I'm waiting until the code is analysed and there's no backdoors or anything harmful. Take all this as you want, just my opinion coming from someone who has been jailbreaking devices since my iPhone 3G.

I have installed the JB and it appears about 10 apps work in total. Even Saurik has tweeted saying that a new version of the Jailbreak will need to be released before his new iOS 7 version of Cydia will work. Cydia 6 is bundled in with the new Jailbreak but it is a pretty flakey port.

About time. Although I thought they were holding out for ios 7.1?

Personally I would not bother with this at the moment.

So, why did they release so randomly?
According to iDownloadBlog's article, it's because of the geohot thing. They had to beat geohot because they wanted the "credit." It's more likely that if geohot released they wouldn't get their million dollars. They didn't even tell saurik that it was being released, nor did they include saurik's iOS 7 version of Cydia. The jailbreak installs an unofficial build of Cydia that works with iOS 7.
So, does the jailbreak work?
Yes, it works, but substrate doesn't, so you can barely do anything. Here is a thread about compatible tweaks.
@Dirk_Gently is trying to reverse engineer evasi0n7 and remove the bloatware/malware/chinese backdoors. Any devs that can help please do. **He has released a second build that installs Cydia and not the Tai Chi crap. Here is his tweet about it. Someone also made a subreddit, /r/osjailbreak, to attempt to reverse engineer and make an open source evasi0n7.

Wait for the proper build.

I think I agree with CF on this one.. the whole release think look well dodgy, and I know other people are working on different JB's, so no doubt another one will be out shortly.

Great news on the ios 7 jailbreak, although think I'm just going to save my SHSH blobs with firmware umbrella so I can restore back to the current ios7 7.0.4 version should apple patch it.

Don't fancy re-jailbreaking to ios7 if all the apps I use aren't compatible. But I still don't want to be suck if apple decide to close the loop hole early and stop people restoring back to 7.0.4.
