About 2weeks ago I did all the port forwarding for the xbox360 and now today I've seen that the IP address on the xbox as changed from 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.100. So, now the ports ain't open.

Is they anyway to get the xbox to keep the same IP and never change?

Thanks

You'll either be able to assign a DHCP address to the MAC of the xbox from your router or assign the XBOX a static IP address inside your subnet.

I assume from those IP's you have a DHCP pool from 100-199, so if you manually set the xbox to 192.168.1.77, for example, and assign the ports to forward to there, you should be fine.

Check if your router supports IP reservations (against MAC address).
How do I check that?
I have a Bipac 7800N

I'll give that a try.

EDIT: I'm abit confused. I've just opend Configure Network on the xbox 360 and I've got a list of.

IP settings
IP address
Subnet Mask
Gatway

DNS settings
Primary DNS server
Secondary DNS server

Do I just change the IP address to 192.168.1.77?

No clue about the Bipac itself, but you should be able to find LAN DHCP settings which will allow you to bind an address to the MAC of the Xbox.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I've just set the IP address on modem to 192.168.1.77 saved then text xbox live connection and I'm getting thias "There's A problem with your connection. Select more info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it."

You need to set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, the gateway to the ip address of your router, and the dns to some dns servers, such as googles 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

And obviously change your open ports on the router to point to. 77 instead of. 101
