So i have 4 IP Cams setup to a NAS drive in my house (long term storage) but i've using an app called Cammy, which provides 3frame/per second clip cloud storage (via FTP) with playback on their app/webpage.

It works great for quick overview of what's been going in the house. All this was free but now they want to charge everyone £5 per cam for the privilege (so £20/pcm), which i'm not paying.

Any recommendation for alternatives? I'll throw a few quid a month to it but certainly not £20.

Cant you just use a dynamic dns service and connect directly to your cameras/application through the web? the DVR must have some client software?

Yep, have DDNS configured for & native Android/Apple app included with the cameras will let you remote view live & watch footage BUT it doesn't offer any kind of preview feature, it instead just lists the video files in time/date order.

So what i use now

I use Milestone Xprotect. You can have 4 cam's for free but you only get a 7 day record retention (I backup the whole virtual machine so could restore if needing anything further back)

It's a very good product and the free version may suit your needs

They may have changed it as says 8 cameras and unlimited retention on website for the essentials package. I use it at work and find it very good.
