I have several IP camera's both wired and wireless being monitored and recorded by a dedicated PC 24/7 with no issues.

I want to view a single IP camera on a netbook and have the following issue:

Netbook connected to router via ethernet: find the camera no problem, view the camera no problem

Netbook connected to the router via wireless: can't find or view the camera, even if i type in the address and port manually

Could anyone tell me where I can start troubleshooting this issue please?

Thanks :)

Sometimes you have wifi to wifi isolation. So wifi clients can't see each other, this would typically be in the router settings.

Or check that your connection isn't set to 'Public' on the netbook when connected to wifi.

It is showing as home connection on wireless, also noticed that when on wireless it doesn't see the 5 other computers on the network or the nas or the wireless printer either. It sees all those devices when connected via ethernet cable. Those other devices are 5 ethernet connections and 2 wireless.

Here's a video if it helps: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...392&authkey=!AFDKuSCaH35lUfE&ithint=video,mp4

When the ethernet cable is unplugged and it's on wireless, i get internet access and my ping and ul dl speeds are normal and I can connect to the netbook remotely via my teamviewer account too. It's definitely connected to the same router when on wireless, just had that thought and checked in case it was on a neighbours wifi

Weird but fixed, sort of:

I found an old usb wireless adapter and installed it to the netbook. I have disabled the onboard wifi and using the usb adapter I now have the ip camera viewing with no problems.

Thanks for the replies :)
