Just got a basic IP camera rigged up at home, so I can spy on my 13-month old daughter playing when having a tough day in the office (ahhhhhh !).....

.. no problems viewing on the network at home, and have now set up Virtual Server/Port Forwarding malarkey on the router to allow internet viewing.....but I think I need to install an ActiveX component to actually view the stream - at the moment, all we get is the camera's page with a missing picture (and the old annoying red cross in the top left corner of the box which should be video )......

...so, I have the .ocx and .inf files.......pulled them to work from my home server and tried to install...but it looks like - although IE asks if I want to run and install the ActiveX component, the system does not actually allow me to :( - seems that I can view all installed components etc., but not install this one !

Any ideas ? Right-clicking on the .inf file offers the Install option and I tried this with no success........even copied the .ocx file to System32 as well.....or is it just an impossibility ?
