Hi all,

As you probably know for Windows Home Server remote access to work - you have to assign the WHS a Static IP address.

Now my router (Linksys WAG200) does not have the DHCP reservation option - So I had to set the WHS (TCP/IP Properties) so that it uses the same IP address.

However, today I turned on my PS3 first and that took the IP of the WHS..??

So what's the best solution? Give the WHS a totally random IP address?

Thanks

So, you're giving the WHS an IP address that's also in the DHCP pool?

Use an IP address that's not in the DHCP pool?

Somewhere in the router's settings there will be an option for the DHCP range.

It'll start at, say, 192.168.1.101 and end at 192.168.1.140.

You need to assign static IP's that are outside of this range.

ok - thanks

mine's shows a 'Starting IP Address' which is: 192.168.1.100

and 'Maximum Number of DHCP Users:' = 50
