Thought I would put this in here but mods please feel free to move to a more relevant place if needed.
Are there any IP PBX / VOIP gurus in here that can lend me a hand as I am going insane trying to get this working.
Firstly apologies for the wall of text that is coming in a bit, but need to explain what has been going on so as to glean best help.
What I started of trying to achieve back in early January was to have teh two exchange lines we have in our office feed into an IP PBX and have calls ring all lines and then be able to dial out on any attached IP phone onto the external line. Easy enough in principle but has been my albatros.
For the PBX side I was originally using FreePBX which was running on a Raspberry Pi. Also was using a 2621XM Cisco router with a 2 port FXO card fitted to interface between PBX and PSTN lines.
I sucessfully set-up the PBX and had all attached phones calling each other with no worries. When I attempted to get the FXO part going was when things started to be a PITA.
Following one of the several hundred guides on configuring a Cisco FXO to interface to FreePBX/Asterisk achieved nothing. For some reason when ever I dialled into the extension attached to the FXO port from another PSTN line, the unconnected port on the FXO card went active and nothing was passed to Asterisk.
As this was gettign increasingly frustarting and also as this was a work solution and was wanting to impliment something similar in my home, I purchased a Linksys SPA9000 and SPA3000 combo.
As I had the PBX working, decided to remove the Cisco and try the SPA3000 as the FXO interface. Again, this presented a few problems but eventually managed to get calls to ring though onto the associated extensions. This was good, but the bad bit was that I was unable to actually answer the calls. Whenever you picked up a ringing handset it appeared to instantly drop the call and go to an idle state and then start ringing again. The only way to drop the call was to hang-up at the other end. Was also unable to dial out from teh PBX through the SPA3000 despite following the guides. This I think was down to dial plans, but I do not understand the syntax and protocol for them, so was a slight loss there.
The next move was to go to a full distro of FreePBX, thining that the Rasp Pi version may be slightly hobbled, but this was situation the same as above.
Have finally removed the FreePBX and set-up the SPA9000 and SPA3000 as was wanting to, but this is not working as wanted. Is similar to the above in that the PBX side works but cannot receive or make any PSTN calls at all. The SPA3000 is registered correctly with the SPA9000 as following the guidance from the Cisco site, but when I dial in nothing makes it the SPA9000 and am unable to make any calls out from the SPA9000 via the SPA3000 onto the PSTN
Again, apologies for the wall of text there, but need some assitance as I am going out of my tiny little mind trying to get this sorted.
ANy help or advice is greatly appreciated on this.
Have posted on the FreePBX forum, the Asterisk forum and the Cisco forum but have had absolutely no replies form anyone on ther at all, so am hoping that someone on the great place that os OcUK wil be able to assist.
TL;DR - know nothing on IP PBX and need help setting one up
