I installed a ssd into my laptop earlier this year and it worked very well. But as I dont use the laptop as much, I decided to use it on my desktop pc instead. Can I get it to work? Can I frakk!
If I change to AHCI the sata dvd drive isnt detected and wont boot off of the windows dvd. But, if I leave it set to IDE, everything is detected, windows installs - but only up to a black screen just before it is supposed to show the final windows desktop. On the third win7 install I left it for 2 hours, but it just gets stuck on that black screen.
Using a normal sata HD, after unplugging the SSD, everything works as it should. What am I missing?
I am using a modified bios, so that I can use a quad core cpu, but surely that wouldnt make a difference?
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
IP35 Pro with Core2Quad 9550
ATI 4870
