iPad 2 Charging issue...

Should it take several hours to charge an iPad 2? When my iPhone 5 is on charge it is about an hour or so and it's near enough done, i've had my iPad 2 on charge, from the mains, for about 3 hours, plugged it on on 11%, and it is now on 48%...is this normal?

WiFi is off
Bluetooth is off
Location services are off
Brightness down to around 25%
No applications running at the bottom

You are using the proper iPad charger plug aren't you ?

Charging off an iPhone plug is going to take ages due to the lower output (Amps)

Just a thought.

That may explain it. I am using the cable which came with the iPad but the plug for my iPhone, I'll try and find the original plug it came with and give that a try. Thanks

You can use iPad plug on iPhone, but not the other way around, well you can but it'll take a good 8hours to charge.
