Hi

Ipad running ios16

Everything i restart it the widgets are back, clock, weather, photos etc. I then have to delete them

How on earth do I get them to permanently vanish. Sick and tired of it

Many thanks

Not the point. I've had to restart mine a couple of times and the widgets keep coming back, so it's obviously a bug Apple need to sort out.
That’s as maybe but a simple solution which will avoid the frustration until it’s fixed is simply to not fully turn it off.

/edit - and remember to log a bug report with Apple. They won’t fix these things unless they’re told about them.

Yup it shouldn't happen but as @Feek mentions, it's worth sending a Bug Report (https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/) when you spot issues like this especially as the more people that do, the higher the chance of it getting fixed in the next release.

Whilst it's a pain, it can sometimes be worth doing a factory reset of the device (make sure you have backups beforehand in case you need to rollback) and set it back up again from fresh (not from a backup) ideally just to make sure it isn't a bodged install; you'll be surprised by the number of times devices miraculously sort themselves out when doing that.

hello there ,

I had the same issue and I’m using iPad Pro 4th gen 11” with iOS 16.3.1

I finally RESOLVED the problem, thanks to a very kind girl from Apple phone support who taught me step by step how to finally resolve this mess!

Here’s how:

1- go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad

2- click on Reset

3- When you click Reset chose the option Rest Home Screen Layout

4- After you have done so you’ll find all your apps icons all over the place and you will lose your grouped apps folders, but that’s not important as you can reorganize after this is done.

5- now delete your widgets like you have always done.

6- restart iPad and voilà ! Problem solved !

Let me know please if that helped you!

All the best

Mario
