iPad Mini Retina - Now available!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any recommendations on a nice case which will protect front and back without adding too much bulk?

Considering an Invision (have these on my Air and the missus iPad 2) but wondered if there was something similar but hopefully a little slimmer.

No, the difference is that the mini has a significantly reduced colour gamut compared to the Air. Many people may not notice or care but the difference is there. Apple are sweeping this under the carpet as a non-issue and still claiming that the Mini is identical to the Air in all but size, which is blatantly false.

agree. i had ipad 2 then nexus 7 and now ipad min with retina. the colour is so so dull it's hard to believe. it does help the fact that i have a samsung note 2 for work....

i do love the ipad mini with retina display, almost every bit of it. except may be i used andriod for too long, i want a proper "back" button!:D

i use mine mostly for email/reading metro in the morning on the train. most of the time it stays in my bag. train has carpet so i wont scream if i drop. so i just went with a cheap neoprene envelope with a simple screen protector. im very keen to keep the whole lot very light and mobile. so when i take it out of the bag, it's pretty much stock.

After a few days of having my mini retina I have to say I love it. It was a bit of an impulse buy with my network cold calling me about having one on contract (they offered me an ipad 4 about 6 months ago and I always regretted turning it down)

I have to say, my ipad 2 still looks great against it. Not as fast and not as sharp but still really good.

My ipad 2 is wifi only and because I know public wifi can be really hit and miss from using my it on my phone, half the time I have to disable it, and because it's a bit heavy/bulky, I've taken it out about 5 times in almost 2 years :o the last thing I would want to do is have a full sized wifi ipad to look after in a place that I find the wifi is unusable.

My mini is 4G so it suddenly feels very portable with the size and the 4G. I even took it to the pub:o it fitted in my coat pocket.

Oh and about the screen colours. I thought I was of the mind that almost everything has a great screen now but the colours do look quite pale, especially the reds. Maybe this is something that could be tweaked slightly with firmware? Having a very saturated Galaxy S3 probably makes it look worse.

Got the kids a couple of mini retinas for Christmas and comparing them side by side with my original mini made me a sad panda

New mini retina inbound for 233 in January

Anyone else having trouble viewing embedded YouTube videos? They're just not there but I can click on the area where it should be and the video starts to play!

It's a well known problem with safari on ios7 I'm afraid.

Where can I get the mini retina for that price? May have to pick one up.

233 is his username. Not the price he is paying. Talking in 3rd person.

:) nothing like causing confusion

if i didn't need 3g i would have stole one of the kids retinas in a heart beat :)

I just bought my mrs the ipad mini (non retina) today as a faster chip and a higher resolution didnt seem worth the extra £70 just for her to play candy crush and update her facebook.

Just got myself a 32gb Mini from John Lewis today, thanks to their 3 year warranty :)

Now I just need a case, any ideas? Preferably slim and leather.

I've got the Invision one from Amazon and it's pretty good. Not real leather though, looks just the same as real leather but without the smell and the leather price tag :)
