Hi guys.. i have had my iphone 3g 16gb since october and i have had no problems with it, but recently the battery life has sarted to drain extremelly quick. I have tryed many things such as turning wifi, push and 3g off and still had no luck. Therefore i was thinking of taking it back to 02 since it is still under warranty.. i was just wondering how long it would take them to fix it or provide me with a new phone..

Thanks

If you take it to an O2 shop, they'll take it off you, test it over a week or so and probably find nothing wrong with it.

On the other hand, if you take it to an Apple store and make a good enough case then you're likely to get it swapped on the spot. Maybe.

Ok thats sounds good... do you think that would be a good enough reason for them to issue be with an immediate swap.. or should i make up some other problems ??

did you recently update it to firmware 3.0 ?

a lot of people complain of low battery life since the update and my iphones also appear to suffer.

Certainly mine has been worse after the 3.0 update. I don't know if it's worth popping into an Apple store to see if they have anything to say about it.

Mine has been dire since the OS3.0 upgrade, it hit 5% today after being off the dock for about 5 hours, I'd only surfed the web and used Beejive for a couple of hours. I've read though that a fresh install of OS3.0 (not using the restore option) is supposed to solve these problems.

One of our work iPhones had this issue. I restored it, re synced it, and it's been fine since. It does seem to be a software issue, so lets hope they cure it soon.

We must be due an update soon...

mine has got progressively worse recently.

barely lasts a day at the moment, not sure what it is that is eating the battery.

I have a feeling there is a bug, that causes a background service to keep collecting mail, or something like that, because my colleague's phone was getting very warm at the same time as losing it's charge.
