iPhone 3G - Hide compilation artists yet?

Does anyone know if its possible yet to hide compilation artists from the artist list? its still a massive point of annoyance with me so i'd even consider jailbreaking if there was a solution?

any ideas?

Can't say it's ever bothered me.

Why is it a problem? If you want to find a song by an artist... why have any artist on a compilation album missing?!

i think whether it bother you or not depends on how many compilations you have... if you have a lot then the artists menu becomes absolutely massive and cluttered...

at the very least, do you not think it should be an option like it always used to be? my 5th gen ipod could do it fine

Considering that both iPod Classic and Nano, plus iTunes have this option - then you'd think iPhone and iPod Touch should have this option too. I would find it very useful too, and I always used to have this option enabled on my iPods.

You are right there, it doesn't make sense not to have the option on the Touch and iPhone.

Hopefully a future software update will iron it out.

this really hacks me off - there needs to be a fix for this asap imo.

i only have 7/8 compilation albums but it really makes my artist list cluttered.
