Hello, now, I've got an 8GB 3G and like many people, ever since the iOS4 update my phone has become unbearably slow in everything I try to use it for. Typing a text out is absolutely torturous, using Safari is an absolute no go because it takes such a long time for the application to even open, Facebook took 3 minutes to simply open after I pressed on the app and if I'm flicking through songs horizontally and I then decide to hold the screen in the vertical orientation it takes around 2-3 minutes for the screen to orientate it's self the correct way.
These problems were absolutely non existent before the update and while I can appreciate that the option to downgrade back to iOS3 is available it is not an option I am willing to nor should be willing to take. I have done everything reasonable to make sure it is not my fault that the slowdowns are occurring. I have used the power button and home button method of resetting the phone, I've turned off and on numerous times and I've also tried backing up all of the phones data and then doing a restore of the phone within iTunes which did alleviate the problems for a few hours before the slowdown has returned.
My question is this; what would be the likely course of action by Apple if I was to book an appointment at my local Genius bar and take the phone in? If there is already a fix in the works for these issues then I apologise for creating the thread but I know I am not the only one with these problems.
