In the past couple of days my 3GS has been acting up. It began with me playing about on the phone where it had about 25% battery power left. It kept going dead, not shutting down like it normally would but the screen was just going blank and it died. Sometimes it would turn back on but not all the time.

After giving it a full charge it seemed okay again until today. The battery was reading 9% but the second I plugged it in to charge it jumped immediately up to 26%. Sometimes it will also freeze and show the lock screen with around 25% battery, even if it is fully charged - then when it unfreezes it will report teh correct battery power.

Now here's the crazy thing. My girlfriend'd 3GS has begun to do the exact same thing just in hte past couple of days. I'm guessing it's not a hardware fault since it has worked flawlessly for 18 months but neither of us have done a software update or anything like that.

Any ideas? Thanks :)

Yup we've both done multiple hard resets. This might sound crazy but could it be a virus or something of the sort?
