iPhone 3GS Screen - **URGENT**

If your screen looks exactly like the image the OP posted, there is nothing wrong with your phone as despite what you might think, it has always looked that way.

If it does not look exactly like the image from the OP, you're gonna need to try and post an image of what you mean.

I was was prepared to accept that yesterday. I put it down to not being very observant but i then went on Google and read many posts on how Apple 'Geniuses' have even swapped handsets out for having this issue.

The thing that really makes me wonder though is after checking my 32 3GS against a colleagues 16 3GS, my handset has the border and theirs does not. The image takes up the whole screen space. Oh well.

:D

Easy way to check, save this image to your iPhone and check you can see the red border, you won't see it if you think you've lost some pixels.

I suspect this is a case of not noticing something and then when it's noticed, it jumps out at you.

A quick google of iphone screen border shows many people noticing it (often only in bright light) and asking the same question. It's normal, forget about it.

But it does also show people who have been to Apple and have had their phones swapped out, presumeably for handsets that dont have the same border?

Yeah, if you hold your iPhone in direct sunlight you can easily see the light sensors up top and the border. Dust under the screen is a completely separate issue and Apple have swapped out phones for that.

It's the border of the small LCD panel you're seeing.

Under dark light the "dead space" around the panel is not noticeable, so it's only in bright light you will tend to catch glimpse of the panel itself.
