Iphone 3GS with OS4 - Can I change my e-mail notification tone?

As I need something loud and if possible longer than the little "bing" that happens, is there anyway to change this? I can with text message and ringing but anything else is simply "do you want it on or off" and thats it, no customisation of tones?

If not then this surely is a big flaw and will cause me problems as I really need to make sure that I am notified when an e-mail comes in, im scared i will miss the short "bing"

afaik you cant change the 'ringtones' for text or email alerts

This is a real pain in the backside

just have to hope I can hear the short tone through the night if I recieve an e-mail.

buy a dock, and have it "on" should amplify the "ping" as well maybe?

Well if im on call, then yes I need to, as some customers dont phone in to the call center number and instead use the e-mail.

That doesn't sound like a good solution, set up an automatic reply telling them to contact the call centre or phone your number?

Its not up to me to do so, and if they wanted it done, the guys inc the team leader would have done it by now.

I can put in the suggestion, but I wouldnt expect it to get far, reason being is because phone and e-mail is an official source of contact, [email protected] and the phone number.

If they choose to send an e-mail, we have to work around that.

Ask your employer to provide you with a suitable phone to use while on call.
