Hi guys,

My business contract is up for renewal. Mainly use the phone for calls, emails (Exchange), Calender etc. I also browse the web a bit on it.

So, options! An Android phone? iPhone 4? Or wait for Windows Mobile 7?

I really just can't decide!!

I currently have an Xperia X1. Due to the lack of touchscreen friendliness of Windows Mobile 6.5, I use the hardware keyboard all the time. However, if the touch screen was good enough, I could be edged away from a hardware keyboard I guess! I've used an ipod touch for a week to email and found the touchscreen fairly good to type with.

Cheers guys!

Mal

You're best off trying them yourself. All this thread will consist of is people recommending the phone they themselves own.

Oh, and in before the "iPhone 4? OMG ARE U CRAZY UR BEIN RIPPED OFF NOOB" etc.

Seriously, get yourself down an Orange/O2/Vodafone store and ask to have a look at some handsets. :)

As above - all I will say is WM7 still doesn't do it for me.

i have the desire, and its great, but one thing you should consider is battery life, all the above you mention have poor battery life due to what they do, so coming from a bb 9700 i miss the 3 or 4 days it gave me, im always getting caught short on that front.

love the slating of windows7 without anyone having tried it

in all honesty its surely going to be the best for exchange support?

If it's a business contract then steer clean of a "toy".
iPhones are fine for the unwashed at home, but as a business tool - look at Android, Blackberry or Windows.

What makes Andriod better than Apple as a Business tool?

I know its better as a phone :p

I'm never owned an iPhone, but I see them more as a "fashion accessory" then a phone.
I've used Windows Mobile devices for around 8 years up until this week when I've finally given up on them. The promises that WM make never live up to it and the hardware is never powerful enough to run the roms properly.

I've got the HTC Desire running Android, and so far I'm really impressed.
Not 100% sure it's doing anything different to an iPhone, but it doesn't feel like it has the "fashion phone" label.

I used to be a big fan of the iPhone but since trying and getting even a very low end Android I have changed my mind, Android is a lot more customizable. Only you can really decide what suites you so I would recommend trying the different phones in a shop or something.

Yet you cant possibly have tried it...

I almost got a desire a couple of weeks ago but didnt in the end, partly because HTC are going to release 3 new top end phones in oct and november, with android, WP7 and one with hardware keyboard. If ur not in a rush then maybe wait and see what they come out like? Guess we'll be hearing about them in the next month or two.

There are aleays new top end phones out in 4 months time.

True, however HTC only release a couple of new top end phones a year, as they are essentially the only decent smartphone manufacturer releasing with any regularity then you may as well wait a couple of months if not desperate and see what their latest phones are going to be... ;)

Besides for me it's a no brainer, the Desire I ordered took to long to arrive and i'm not going to be around for a month or so so may as well just wait til the new phones come a few weeks after I get back...

I wouldn't bother waiting for WP7, can't see it being anything special.

I actually partially agree here, everything I have seen and read about WP7 so far hasn't caught my interest too much.

That said, there isn't THAT much information about it floating around but I just cant see it topping Android for some reason.

Probably a lot of this is based on the (in many peoples opinion) poor platform that was Windows Mobile :p
