Hey guys, was talking to a friend about the jailbreaking issue, would like your opinions on this:

"All the jailbreak methods available now require a previous jailbroken firmware"

And I'm not sure about the proximity sensor, so how are all your sensors doing? My friend says, and I quote:

"Check the so called proximity sensor, a lot of iphone 4's had a faulty one. The proximity sensor is placed next to the speaker where you hear the other person speaking and is responsible to detect your face and shut down the display screen so you won't press any button accidentally whilst on the phone..."

If you are on firmware 4.0 or 4.0.1 you can jail break easy by using this site below via the phone, its very easy and does it all for you have mine done using this way, if you are on 4.0.2 the latest update this method won't work as Apple have fixed how it does it, remember to go on this site below on the iphone and just drag the lock bar across on the screen.

Not sure on the proximity sensor side mine hasn't give me any problems yet.

There seems to be no consistency with the proximity sensors. I've read of people who have had phone replaced with one that have the exact same issues. I've had mine for about a month now and never had a problem. Maybe it's something to do with the shape of peoples ears
