Poll: iPhone 4 problems thread

Anyone get this strange problem in iTunes when syncing their iPhone 4?

If I load iTunes and after syncing if I click on any of the library sections on the left this message comes up.

If I click apply or don't apply and sync again and click on any library section the message comes up again, its annoying!

Tried reinstalling iTunes and recreating my iTunes library and it didn't work

i get that when i dont wana synch any apps and stuff and just the muzic or tv/films only been doing with the recent version tho

My battery only lasts for about 6-7 hours if i'm using it. No idea how people are getting 12 hours let alone days!

Is the 3G backup thing an official problem?

I just ugraded from the 3G to the iPhone 4 restoring from the 3G backup and battery life is excellent. Appears it doesn't always cause problems.

Presumably I'm able to take mine into an apple store and request replacement if mine has a fault? What do I need to take in with me? Mines on contract via three,

Update, got it replaced today at the genius bar. Internal speaker actually sounds decent now!

Hi guys.

I have iPhone 4 32gb and my wife 16gb version.
Mine phone seems to loose 3g signal occasionally(not a problem in general), while 16gb phone still shows 3g...
It seems that when 3g signal is 1 bar it looses it more easily on my phone than my wife's phone. And once no 3g signal, it straggles to pick up 3g again. Reboot helps...
Screens from both phones, same place today. Both phones in cheap temporary bumpers.

How did you get that apple symbol on your folder? And why havent you shown your wife

My only suggestion is that they shouldnt really deal with the connection any differently so you maybe able to persuade an Apple Genius to replace your phone. Though I would suggest the normal backup/wipe to check what it does on a 'fresh' setup before restoring your data...

Thanks. I will do fresh restore and see tomorrow if I can get the same problem.
Btw I restored network settings yesterday and it caused disappearance of all but "immediately" option in General > Passcode Lock > Require Passcode... Some people report the same problem on apple forum. Looking forward for ios update.

Guys

First time I've posted in here but reasontly while in the middle of a call I have just lost who ever I was talking to, looked at my phone and I'm back at the phone screen, also if I have the phone against my shoulder and ear while doing other things the phone screen comes to life and I put people on hold, mute them and make other calls? Now I know my 3Gs NEVER had this issue

Are these the common issues everyone is talking about?

That would seem to be the proximity sensor issue.

There is no fix for it, you could get Apple to swap the phone perhaps?

Rats, I hate giving my new phone in for a refurb unit

And the random call drops are a known issue I've read about?

Yes signal is always good as that's the first thing I look for....

Could well be the sensor as it allows me to put on hold, add addational callers to the call.. all sorts

Looks like its a software issue, I have just tried the rest all settings, see if that helps

my signal problem is fixed soon as i got the iphone 4 bumper case. i used the case order program it did state i wouldnt get it till after 1st sept takes 4-6 weeks for delivery but i got it 6 august. if u havent ordered it i suggest ordering as it will most likely fix your problem

Apple store - do not go anywhere else, but take both phones to add comparison of the issue...

Anyone had dodgy O2 data connection in the last 24 hours? Mine doesn't seem to be playing ball at all.

Can't say I've had a single problem with my Iphone 4 so far.

Wifi works fine, seems quicker then my 3GS.

Can't say I've noticed a signal "loss" at all, or no more so then I'd get about the house then on my 3GS.

Really happy with it, the screen is beautiful.

This tbh i can hold the phone as tight as tight with no cover on and i can't get my signal to drop, no wifi issues no dropped calls fantastic phone.
