iphone 4s Activation help required

bought a used iphone 4s on Vodafone.

Im on three network but want to unlock (apparently the guy who I bought it off has already phoned up to unlock it)

when I turn it on it says "activation required" so do I need to buy a vodaf
one sim to activate it? then op my three in?

Not knowing anything about iPhones, I may have a guess that you'll need to link it to iTunes on your computer to "activate" it. However I may be totally wrong lol

Restore the iPhone via iTubes and you should get a message pop-up stating the iPhone is now unlocked

Yeah, try connecting it to iTunes and see if that works.

If it's unlocked it shouldn't be an issue though I don't think...

99% sure you dont need to connect a 4s to activate it

you might need the old owner to deactivate or unlink his/her account though

pretty much spent all last night trying to get it to activate, but it kept saying "invalid Sim"

turns out, although the guy I bought it off requested it to be unlocked (by phoning his network provider I think) because it was bank holiday they were unable to do it until the next working day.

popped my 3 sim in this morning, and working 100% now.

Hope this helps anyone else in a similar situation & thanks for your replies folks
