iPhone 4S Reservations?

tonight the reservation system failed on safari but worked (and it was late, obviously) with chrome. wtf!

anyway, I am sure there're doing this way to avoid people buying sim-free iphone massively and send them in china or arabic countries since they don't have a release date yet...the day after the release day, regents street's store has had a really long queue made 99% of arabic people, it looked like a mosque during the ramadan. This is the only reason that came to my mind to explain how badly apple is doing this thing in the u.k

It is also London though and the 4S isn't available in many markets yet.

A couple of weeks after the iPad 2 launched and I was buying mine in the Regents Street queue on a Sunday morning, there was barely any British people in it. They weren't necessarily resellers though, most were on business or on holiday and were picking one up because they could get one.

I also wonder about the 2 per person rule, because at the sametime I saw an Arab guy with his family of about seven and he bought one for each of them. So I'd imagine it's down to their discretion.

Central London also has a pretty large Arabic population now, given that they all own property over here and come to escape the heat.
Have you been through Knightsbridge lately? The area should probably be renamed 'Little Dubai'.

Lol Why are people crying about the reservation system? Just wait a couple of weeks or keep trying. At the end of the day they will only have x number of stock delivered to each store, demand will always outweigh the supply during a launch.

It was the same with ipad2. I spent maybe 4 nights logging on at 9pm to try reserve the model I wanted from b'ham. Was eventually successful at the Solihull store. My good friend works at the b'ham store and told me how little stock they were getting in each day, and how each delivery was essentially already taken up by the previous nights reservations.

Just had a look about ten minutes ago and Exeter had 32/64GB Whites and Blacks. All gone now mind.

Meadowhall had them all again have reserved one for tmr again as can get to store for 9 as there was time option for 9 it better be open as though open at 10

Just had a thoroughly disappointing experience with Orange (not the Apple reservation system, but there you go). Arranged a 24-month contract 2 weeks ago and even had Orange swap over my last Orange phone-number from my 3GS to 'my' new 4S that would, naturally, be delivered with a little orange bow on it to my door with my brand new number all ready to go. Two weeks ago they told me it would be delivered here today, 100%, ready to go out of the box.

Then last night they send me a rather mute email saying that they cannot get hold of a 32Gb White 4S until 8 weeks, basically after the Xmas period  And my contract is now cancelled and fully refunded. Thanks for taking 2 weeks about it and wasting my damn time (not to mention my hopes and excitement!)

Anyone else finding getting a contract handset impossible? Is it worth looking with someone else? I don't want to buy a handset from an Apple Store as I did so with my previous 3GS and they refused to repair it for me when it broke (something about not being a 19 year old girl, which works every damn time for my friends when they walk in like a damsel in distress to some eager-eyed 'Genius')...

Or does anyone know where I can buy a 4s on payg, I dont want a contract or anything, as im on simplicity, just want to buy the phone outright, but not sure of anywhere else other than an apple store :(

I wouldn't take no notice of that website, on Thursday night I was trying Liverpool store to make a reservation, all night it said "NO stock in available", I called them Friday and they said they had every variety of 4S in stock, so I went and completed my upgrade!!

Call them tomorrow!!!

Apparently at the end of a retail day, the manager has to show how much stock he wants to show for reservation.. Or keep stock for walk ins... Well that's what the guy told me...
