iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Who gives a toss - it's not what the OP asked. He started a thread to collate contract deals people had managed to obtain and the first reply was utterly irrelevant to that topic.

Not really as 99% of people would have just bought it sim free today! Not with a contract!

Sim free is a pretty fair comment! That's the deal he chose!

Point made, cheers Stinky. Who gives a toss? Well the people purchasing Sim Free gives a toss and my comment was for tang0, 2nd post I think.

Guys,

I'm currently on vodafone and I'm liking the look of some of their offers...

Atm I have a blackberry; 600mins, unlimited text and 500mb data for £36 on an 18 month contract which has expired :)

On the website I can get the 32gb 4S, 300mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data for £36 and £339 for the handset. AND I'll get £59 cashback in november!

Or I could spend an extra fiver a month, get an extra 300 minutes and pay £100 less for the phone.

My dilemma is if I should wait or not? In the past I've hesitated with these kind of things and missed out. I'm just wondering if its best to wait and see if anything else better comes along (not that I think it will in this situation) or actually go into my local vodafone store and see if I can blag any extra out of them or anything :p Free picture messaging would be good...

What you think?

Vodafone do indeed seem to have some pretty reasonable deals, plus on there 1200min contracts you get 25mb daily data roaming included! Extremely tempting for me spending half my time around Europe. What is the Vodafone network like these days? Is it reliable for 3G?

I've never had an issue but recently I've been getting poor connection with my 3GS. I think perhaps my SIM may be faulty though, but not 100% sure.

Vodafone also offer calls to 08 numbers included in the minutes for £3 a month.

Well, do you need 300 minutes or 600?
I think I've only ever gone over 300 minutes once in my life! So the 300 minute deal should be plenty but I'm just wondering if its worth spending the extra fiver a month to reduce my initial outlay on the handset

It would be an extra £90 over the 18months to save £100 initially and £10 overall – so not really major.

Has anyone rung vodafone yet, are they budging at all on the web deals? Whenever I've called them in the past they haven't been that helpful, usually stating that 'web offers are nothing to do with telesales' - also does the £59 cashback deal stand on phone/shop pre-orders?

Doubt anyone will budge on the listed prices for iphone 4S.

The only other thing you can try is buy the phone from Apple then try find a good sim-only deal.

With regards to the plan you mentioned, the 600mins one seems the sensible option. Bare in mind when comparing, I think it's better to compare the TCO over 24 months not 12/18 or factor in resale values.

I'm personally leaning towards Three on the one plan at £35/m + £99. TCO over 24 months is £939. If I went sim-only, the plan would have to cost no more than £18.33/m but I would like at least 900 mins and 1GB data.

500MB of internet? lol I do that in a day thanks to VNC

lol you are so cool

I've done 1GB of data in 8 months, so why would I pay the extra for the data when I won't use it? I'm nearly always on Wi-Fi, so it doesn't bother me.
