iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Tesco mobile (basically o2 with good customer service)

500 anytime minutes
5000 text
1gb data
Customer service where you get through every time and can speak to someone who understands English

£12.50 a month for 12 months
This works out at £17.50 via their website for me. Is this via retentions?

This deal is advertised in my local Tesco (Gillingham), on a black board by the entrance as 12 month contract for £10. It's been there since July.

I was tempted to get the phone SIM free, but it works out TCO of £1600 over 24 months compared to around £1000 if I get the phone on contract!

Some major maths failure there mate. If sim free phone is £500 and you pick , I don't know - that Tesco deal above, that works out £740 over two years or £31 a month. You would need to pair your sim free with some ridiculous sim only plan for £45 a month to rack it up to £1600 TCO.

I use 5GB+ data a month, so would need the One plan, which is £25 a month with Three. So £599 for the phone plus £600 for the contract based on 24 months, vs £180 for the phone + £840 for the contract option adding up to £1020, less cash back equalling £914, but obviously tied into a two year contract

Maybe I should learn to add up lol.

5GB of data a month on your Phone - seriously what are using it for ??

Tethering on night shifts.

Currently I connect using a 3 mifi, but the intention would be to cancel that and move to Three (phone is with Vodafone right now).

I use 5GB on a monthly basis minimum and it works out the cheapest to move to the One plan and change the SIM in the mifi to PAYG for emergencies.

I ordered a SIM from the three website earlier, without any problems.

Site wasn't even slow. I went through Topcashback and got my conifrmation email instantly. Interestingly, the cashback on "The one plan" is epic.

Three told me that they have reported the online site problem to their IT, and that any phone orders should be made after midnight, just passing on what they told me :)

Yeah their site is totally screwed lol, not holding my breath with them, and I don't want to order via phone as I want the cashback!

I would buy the phone direct from apple and then get a giff gaff sim with the £10 a month goody bag leaving me with 400 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data.

Im still on a 20 quid Simplicity (unlimited Data) for iPhone 30 day contract with o2, from what I have seen its probably best I buy the 4S unlocked from Apple for 500 sheets + 3% quidco

currently using an old 3G wondering if o2 will send me a new iPhone 4 type sim and tie it to my simplicity contract?

At least if South Africa lose the rugby this morning, waking up at 6am wasn't a complete waste. Finally got my order through with Three. Just hope Quidco tracks now :)

Mine still goes straight back to the home page after I enter my details on the first page of the order.

I am using Chrome if its of any consequence...

Snap.

Getting a load of this now:

Google Chrome could not load the web page because threestore.three.co.uk took too long to respond. The website may be down or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Check your Internet connection. Reboot any routers, modems or other network devices that you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted programme in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted programme, try deleting it from the list of permitted programmes and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure that the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the spanner menu > Options > Under the Bonnet > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

I'm tempted to scrape some money together and buy it SIM free, but then the Apple delivery time is showing 1-2 weeks now.

Me and the wife both re-ordered the 4S from Three on "The One Plan" yesterday morning just after 9am. Site worked perfectly after being borked on Friday evening. We re-ordered to get the Quidco cashback. Hopefully they'll be able to fulfil their pre-orders and we get them on Saturday next weekend. Can't wait to try Siri!

And in response to your comment to the Three rep Imy, I used Safari to order from the Three site when I ordered yesterday. So did my wife. We ordered on our iPads. On the PC I use Firefox and Chrome, but Safari does all I need it to on my phone and iPad so I don't need something else. I expect most Mac, iPhone and iPad users feel the same.
