iPhone 5 3G data speeds.

How much data do you get to use? This is what I dont understand with faster speeds, we only get about 1Gb of data over 3g/4g so whats the point

Depends what plan you're on. With AT&T inc mobile hotspot its 5gig per month with $10 per gig overage...

Some people still have the grandfathered unlimited, and Sprint has unlimited data.

Typically now the basic on Verizon and AT&T is 3GB per month, with $10 per gig overages. or 5Gig if you add mobile hotspot for and extra $20 per month.

Basic data is $30 per month.

Is 3G the new HSDPA (or whatever called)? I never get H on mine now... It's always 3G.

In the USA HSPA+ actually showed as 4G on the iPhone, but this was only on the AT&T network.

HSPA was regular 3G HSPA+ was almost considered a 4G Light (not LTE) but an enchanced 3G, same as the competing WiMAX, which never took off.

4G LTE is considered the proper super fast 4G, but the letters LTE seem to confuse people, because they read it as light, when it actually means LONG TERM EVOLUTION.

It's quite amusing because the ITU originally considered LTE to be not enough of an upgrade to be classed as 4G, but were basically forced into it. They had mandated that 4G must be at least 100Mbps, but alas.
