Hm... what? That's not what it's going to be really, at all.

In my opinion, this will be the biggest and most significant release of an iPhone since the original.

 Is that the same case almost ever year.

  • 3g - OMG apps, this is the biggest release
  • 3gs - OMG speed/video camera, this is the biggest release
  • 4 - OMG retina display plus amazing build, this is the biggest release
  • 4s - OMG Siri, dual core and steve died its his last legacy, this is the biggest release
  • 5 - OMG 4" of display and new design, this is the biggest release.
  • 5s - OMG touchId, M7, iOS7 this is the biggest release.

Not to sound overall cyclical but that phrase is throw around so much and I think it holds less and less meaning. The iPhone is gonna be 4.7" now but its nothing ground breaking or new, its new for iPhone but the market is filled with huge ass devices and this isn't really a huge new feature, there isn't anything else that I think is super exciting or important from the phone it iself, most of the improvements I think matter are iOS.

I don't really care what the general opinion is, the 's' updates have always been good but nothing special.

A dramatic increase in screen size (perhaps two size options) and a new design, ignoring everything else - is a big deal.

I think this will be the most significant release of an iPhone to date (not revolutionary or anything, I never said that).

I went 3GS --> 4S, skipped 5 and 5S as they didn't offer me anything worth upgrading for, screen wasn't big enough to warrant the spend and my 4S was still is pretty much new condition after 2 years so decided to hold out for the 6.

Can't wait for the 6 now as my 4S is now deteriorating, fast.

Tempted for a 5S as hopefully they will reduced in price otherwise its the Z3 compact.

The only thing apple has got going for it is the accessories imo.

My point is in the wider smartphone context its not really a big deal, and for the most part it is simple playing catch up.

I personally think its awesome, iOS8 makes the iPhone a viable option and the if it stayed 4" that would have been a huge issue, and if they release a 5.5" device I see it effectively killing off the Note 3.

And all the handoff work between iOS and OSX makes it even more interesting since I'm primarily using OSX.

New design is par for course, it happens ever 2 years and so far I think the 5/5s looks much better but only time well till.

I've always thought that if Samsung hadn't released the S2, then apple would have released an iphone of similar size but they didn't want to be seen to be copying. It just seemed such an obvious progression at that time.

I just want the back to look like the back of my ipad mini retina

Agreed, also if you check an iPad with 4g it has a plastic strip at the top so there going to need to put some plastic somewhere, but the overally design just looks pretty meh, off course it lacks that apple polish that we will hopefully see come september. I believe the Apple logo can house a WiFi bits.

Exactly the same boat.

The more recent leaks seem to be solidifying the "camera ring" rumours. Hopefully it's just on the 5.5" model (i.e. the one I have no interest in) haha!

Very much looking forward to the release of the 6, my iPhone 5 is looking rather tatty even though its been in a case most of the time. The anodising is absolutely shocking, it might as well be coloured in with felt tip pen with the ease it picks up scratches.

Waiting to see what the iPhone 6 is like before I decide which phone I'll be getting next.

It's gonna be between the iPhone 6 and the Lumia 930!

^ Same here, either getting an iPhone 6 or Nexus, nothing new in the Android space is too my liking, and being heavily invested in Google means WP is DOA.

Iphone 6, big, or Note 4 for me, the field of competitors has been cut down to two, should be a fairly easy choice when the time comes, I'm a bit worried by the apple intrusiveness though.
