Should I pick up an iPhone 6?

Do you want the best phone? Then yes. :p

Get the 6 Plus if you can manage the size though.

I'm currently running an iPhone 6 mate, still Android > iOS for me but the hardware is just better then everything else out currently. I have my eyes on the M9 but I hope its size is closer to the Nexus 5 then the M8.

I thought you got rid of your iPhone 6, did you buy another one?

Yeah got another one 2 weeks ago, this time I think I'll stick with it. Still prefer Android over iOS, but I can't find anything I like in the android space right now, if Google had a 5" nexus phone I would have gone with that. Also all the handoff parts are working properly now so texting/calling from my laptop is really handy, and a lot more apps support the iPhone 6, still things like extensions are proving to be annoying for developers which is why so many big name apps don't have proper support yet.

Ah fair enough. What's the biggest thing you miss from Android?

Girlfriend is thinking of upgrading from her 16Gb 4S, currently on a three sim only at £15 per month (i think) she does keep going over on minutes however.

Looking at some deals at the moment, EE are offering unlimited minutes and texts, 4gb of 4G data, and a free phone for £38.99/month. Taking off the £60 she would get for her phone, leaves it at £36.50 for 24 months. Am I being silly or is that a very good deal?!

Sounds a good deal, also don't forget TopCashBack :)

Design of Lollipop is actual really good, but iOS7+ is great too.
How easy it is to set up all my google bits, its actual quiet a few steps to get on it iOS.
Google now, its on iOS but not nearly as useful, and as such I don't use it as much.
Sharing, its extensions should help, but like I said a lot of big apps just don't support it yet, things like WhatsApp still need a tonne of steps to just share a photo.
Easy of customations, I like having only a few select apps in the centre so I can highlight my wallpaper since I use google search/spotlight to launch most apps anyways. Its not the biggest fault but its something I miss.
Gmail App, I really like the latest iteration of the gmail app on android, currently using mailbox and its not half bad.
Settings page is a huge mess.
Miss SwiftKey - iOS version is a pile of **** tbh, and 3rd party keyboard in generally where buggy.

Better there are a lot of advantages.
Back ups that actual work
Great permissions system
Location locks on almost immediately
Apps are typically better designed
Camera apps are better overall
Awesome standby battery life.

But as a whole I still enjoy Android OS more, I feel it fits me better as a person.

OK, so my contract runs out in April and I'm sat on the fence between the IP6 and the GS6 (when it comes out)

Really tempted to get back onto iPhone as I do miss it.

How have the 3rd Party apps come along in terms of up-scaling their apps for the larger screen?

All 80~ of the apps I have are updated. Most of the popular ones are updated now.

Design of Lollipop is actual really good

I flashed Lillipop onto my awful lag-fest Note 2 (which BTW has 2GB of RAM and a Quad Core CPU!!!!) and I was stuningly surprised at how much of a difference it made.

Finally a seriously fast experience; snappy menus, apps load immediately, pop-up videos run instantly, scrolling is smooth, keyboard types without delay, actually power efficient and battery doesn't just drain in standby.

They're moving in the right direction now, previously they barely placed attention on user experience and seemed to concentrate more on the feature set. Now you're starting to get both but... the apps still let it down IMO.

How do you guys go about insuring your iPhones?

I'm thinking of swapping my Lloyds current account for a Santander 123, but will loose the mobile phone cover that Lloyds provide (with iPhone excess of £100). Is my best bet going with Applecare+ for 2 years for £79 (with excess £55)?

I went with Applecare+, the £55 excess seems very reasonable.
Well I've bought the Applecare+ cover but found out that it doesn't cover loss or theft which I had wrongly assumed it did. I can cancel within 30 days so again wondering what others are doing for covering loss of the handset? I've haven't lost a phone in 15 years or so, but this would be an expensive one to lose!!

I use contents insurance to cover the iPhone. If it was lost or stolen I would claim on that policy.

I bought my brother the Anker 2nd Gen Astro E4 after a ton of research. It's £20, has two USB ports so you can charge any device, has over 1500 reviews with 4.5 stars, stores on a very high capacity 13000 mAh battery and delivers power at 3 Amps to charge very fast.
