Can someone explain to me why there is such a huge difference in price between the US and UK store? Would not be better to buy it from the US and ship here for few dollars?

You mean the on contract price in the US?

The US get ripped off. They have to pay hundreds for the phone and pay massive contracts.

So disappointing so far. Not sure if I'm going to buy. Can't access the Apple store and is there really not going to be an upload of the keynote?

Wow, 6 is massive compared to 5S, 6S is just comical at whooping 16cm length, why do they plow into phablets, I through the whole mid size market was in peril, wasn't ipad mini a failure?

Since when was the iPad Mini a failure?! Personally I find it a much better size than the full size one, which is not much smaller than a 13" laptop...

Can anyone explain the poor screen resolution of the 6? It's like going back 3 years and hugely disappointing. Yes, it's "retina" but in reality that's rubbish, especially if like me you ware tempted to move from an HTC One (M7) to the 6. I'm guessing the reduced resolution will be fairly noticeable. I assume it's a battery life and performance feature

The lack of IS is a pain as well, however the wallet will come in handy, especially if companies start using it rapidly. TFL using it on the tube would be a massive plus as well, although I understand they did a trial on NFC (phones) and said it was too slow.

One more thing, would a Canadian phone work over here fully? IIRC warranty isn't worldwide on phones however?

EDIT: Also, will they have previews available in the Apple stores before the preorder date?

If you got hit with import tax then it probably wouldn't be worth it otherwise everyone would. Apple US probably don't ship overseas anyway.

Dont see why people are complaining about the prices. What was they expecting price wise from Apple?!?!!? I'm sure the 5s was £549.99 for the base model on release. I paid £529.99 for the 5 two years ago and the HTC One M8 was about £550 if not more on release.

Most who want either phone will buy them on contract anyway, so they will be paying more in the long run.

And can anyone enlighten me as to why they scraped the 32GB option? 16GB is definitely not enough for the camera upgrades alone. Is it?

My brother in law has a 5.5" phone, he says some of his jeans pockets have warped to the shape of the phone and will get a smaller phone next. lol

I've noticed women like this size phone a lot more than men because they can store it in their handbag.

What reduction in resolution? The iPhone 5 is 1136x640 (326 PPI) and the iPhone 6 is 1334×750 (326 PPI). The PPI is the same, 6 just has a slightly bigger screen.

Haters going to hate.

Apple can't compete with Samsung in cutting-edge hardware, and that's no more apparent than the pitiful 8mp camera but I swear some people wouldn't be happy if it had a 4k display and an extendable arm that wipes their ass.

It was a bit cheeky calling a 720p screen "RetinaHD", do they think their customers are stupid?

You've missed all the absurd comments around the internet how it's good enough. No need for higher PPI.

"There's no need as you're eye can't distinguish the pixels".

*Next year a 1080p version is released*

"1080p an amazing feature".

Well I actually think going with 720p was the right choice, going 1080p would have severely effected the battery life. My main gripe about the screen was them calling it "Retina HD" like it was some kind of evolution in screen technology. :D

iphone cameras are usually pretty damn good though.

Think its worth mentioning the iPod Classic has also been discontinued today. is it worth mentioning? Oh well, I may just up it to 120gb off ebay and add abit of extra life into it.

Doesn't matter about the pixel count, the camera on the 5S is excellent.
