I can name many reasons why I'm jumping ship back to iPhone / IOS again...

Build quality
Design passion
iOS Simplicity
App quality
App uniformity
Reliability
Phone Hardware quality (yup even compared with Andoid HW it's top notch)
Camera quality (S4 is junk, megapixels are not the be all and end all)

It's a no brainer for me... I'm afraid all Android does these days is annoy me, and I can sum it up in one word 'CLUNKY' :)

Same here, pretty much. FaceTime and iMessage are important too for me, massively so.

There's nothing wrong with Android if you like tweaking your phone and want full customisation (though if you root you can theoretically Jailbreak too).

Camera quality (S4 is junk, megapixels are not the be all and end all)

The photographers among us have obviously known this for years but it's still lost on the majority of users and so many manufacturers still push it as the most important specification.

You only have to look at how much Nokia tried to hype their 40mp (or whatever it was) Lumia thing. Yeah right, who gives a toss about 40mp when the sensor is the side of a pin-head

Was actually very interested to see Apple's "Focus Pixels" thing during the keynote - basically the same technology Canon have in the 70D and forthcoming 7D2 and brings fast phase-detect AF to phones - a genuine innovation and improvement rather than the boring old "jack up the megapixel count" rubbish from most manufacturers.

You're doing what you've done in all the other threads you've derailed in the past - setting a bar in your head which counts as a "valid reason" to favour an Apple offering over a competitor and dismissing everything which falls below this. It's very tiresome.

Personal preference is an entirely valid reason to favour one over the other. It's not your money, you shouldn't care.

You may claim that iMessage, iTunes Match, Continuity, iCloud Backup, TouchID don't count as valid reasons, but that's just you shifting the goalposts.

And there was me thinking I was saying there should me more honesty and that all three OS's are as good as each other.

What's going on in your world?

My order has been changed to 'preparing for dispatch' yay!

If you guys who's orders have been changed go on to the following link;

You can find your serial number for your IP6, 6+. Mine hasn't updated to show it there yet, but plenty of people on Macrumours have been finding their iphone build dates.

What time did you get your confirmation email? worried I wont get mine on launch day :S

Not sure why people are justifying their purchase of the iPhone...

Just do whats right for you....

That goes for android users too!!!!

Peace and love people it's a phone FFs!!!!!!!!

As said previously I use iMessage from my iPad and I too have iTunes Match plus an iMac plus Apple TV. None of that prevents me from using and enjoying Android.

I'm still waiting for the poster who said he misses iOS to come back to me and explain why, but doubt I will get any sort of coherent reply.

Most of what I read is empty rhetoric. Bottom line with most of the upgrades, they are wants rather than needs, which is fine, I just wish people could me more honest.

Just lol

Tell me, what car do you have?

What are you talking about? Someone's phone preference might come down to a feature that only exists on one platform that someone considers vital. Just because it's something that you don't need and have never used doesn't make that persons decision any less reasoned.

I don't care what phone people use. People don't ask me for advice on phones because I don't work in a phone shop, and I don't give out unsolicited advice on phone operating systems because I don't have crippling aspergers. I use an iPhone, and so do lots of other people, and I have no idea why this annoys you so much.

I have a feeling that the iPhone will only pull the amount it is set to when charging, using an iPad charger shouldn't make it any quicker. Although I may be wrong.

No you're right. Basically, voltage is supplied, current is drawn. Whilst you need to make sure the power supply will provide enough current so the device doesn't try to draw more than it should, using a charger which is able to supply excess current won't make the device charge any faster.

As far as I'm concerned you've just described Android or Windows Phone for that matter. Come on people let's have something a bit more original than the above. Whilst that claim may have had some merit a few years ago that really is no longer the case.

This is why so many people have a go at Apple users, they constantly trot out the same outdated mantra time after time.

OS wise there's barely a pin to put between all three.

Whilst you don't have to justify your purchases to anyone why not dispense with all the guff?

As far as im concerned all other phones did not have anything like (good) touchscreens, apps, stores etc. until Apple came along. Then everyone started basically copying what Apple have and changing it slightly.

I have tried other phones and was put off immediately by the inferior touchscreen and general speed jumping from app to 'home' to other things.

Dont get me wrong, my housemate has an S4 and the screen is good, dare I say it possibly better than my iphone 5, however using it for an hour I grew to dislike it more and more. When I have used any apple device I find liking it more and more instead - for this reason (and service) I am willing to pay more for Apple devices

Edit - back on the subject of the thread - Is the IP6 available to test/demo in stores before next friday?

I am hoping the new rounded design is similar to that found on the 3GS, but thinner. I loved that phone

Have I slipped into that alternate reality again? It was you who said you could only consider an iPhone due to you having iTunes Match etc. and when I point out the amount of Apple kit I own but can still enjoy the Android experience you have thrown a sulk.

You pointed out that someone who uses iMessage can ditch an iPhone and go with Android because they can always wait until they get home to use iMessage on their iPad. Only in your alternate reality is that a remotely workable solution.

Hint: Maybe the fact that you don't really do smartphone-y things on a smartphone (no messaging, no music, no paid apps) is resulting in your lack of understanding as to why people become invested in certain platforms.
