iPhone 8 / Mac Photos App

Just tried to transfer my photos from my iPhone (iOS 11.1) to my mac using Photos 2.0 on OS 10.12.6, however the photos App won't recognise any photos on my iPhone other than videos or those taken elsewhere.

I've had a google but to no avail. Any ideas?

Ah, fixed it. Changed the new high efficiency photo/video formats back to automatic so that it exports jpg/mov. Would have thought a mac could cope with these formats however.

High Sierra can cope with the new format.
