Guys,

Im really wanting an Iphone and plan to move my current contract from tmobile as i get a really poor signal in my house and I dont currently pay for a land line.

The apps that i use on my N95 8gb which i cant really live without are

*Sports tracker, tells you how far, how fast and can also then put the route on google maps, handy for the bike/car/walk/run etc
*Being able to connect to my laptop via bluetooth and browse the net/connect to my works vpn?

Are these possible on the iphone 3g?

Thanks

AFAIK yes, take a look in iTunes for the sports tracker.

And for question 2 I would say no, because its against most phone contracts especially Apple's o2 one and the only app was banned (it was wifi not bluetooth) the bluetooth is limited to just the bluetooth headsets nothing else, no file transfers, contacts, etc....

If you jailbreak the iphone it is easy to install netshare (the app that was pulled by apple), it connects the laptop via wifi and works fine with VPNs etc. It is however against the terms and conditions of the iphone contract however I can't see O2 kicking a fuss up if you don't go mental with the usage.

It should be fine you can get offical VPN apps for the iphone so I don't see how 02 can tell the difference from a VPN from a laptop, my work mate has hit around 1gig a month via a laptop tethered to his iphone and not a mention of it from 02. It does hammer the battery but he charges it via USB from the laptop.
