iPhone as a modem

If/When the 3G iPhone comes out would it be possible to use it as a modem for a laptop and if so would I incur extra charges?

no one even nows the release date, let alone the spec, so any answer would just be guesswork im affraid.

But based on the current one, no. Unless someone writes a 3rd party program to do it... which is probably a mammoth task.
