ok so as I was drunk last night I went to protect my phone by enabling the passcode on it. But due to being drunk I have miss keyed my passcode and cant remember it. I prob would get it right eventually but its now asking me to wait an hour.

How do I get around this.

Whats important is. after I enabled the code I recieved text messages that I haven't opened yet.
If I restore it am I gonna loose this new unopened data?

are you on 02? and do you have bluebook enabled? If so just go for the restore option and grab your text from your bluebook.

I am on o2 but I dont think blue book is enabled.
I really need to get back into my phone.

Will a genious bar be able to by pass unlock. I cant erase the data due to evidence on my phone for a police case I might need.

The problem is also that I format my computer a lot and so its not currently synced with any active itunes at the moment!

Curse my desire to format!

as far as i'm aware the lock is pretty secure. I guess you could ssh into the phone and take a copy of the SMS database. But i'm really guessing here, sorry. Hope you get it sorted.

not sure itll help but
HOLD the Power Button and the Home Button until a 'Yellow Hazard Triangle' Appears...(25 SECONDS)

Then connect to iTunes and it will prompt to Restore

you will not keep newer info than after the retore

Can you sync the locked iPhone with iTunes without unlocking it? I'd imagine if you can you could then do a restore via iTunes without loosing anything?

yup

Just been the Apple store in Manchester and I was told all that could be done was to restore it.
I thought taking my purchase details, phone and ID would have allowed for some easy official Apple software to master reset the device.

I think my only option now is to try n gain system access to it via some form of jailbreaking?

Any ideas?

I think at this stage you have nothing to loose, you should be able to jailbreak the phone even when it's locked, but again that isn't something I've tried. If you can jailbreak it you should then be able to ssh into the phone and copy the SMS database over before doing a restore. And then try copying it back if you need to after you have the restore complete.
