iPhone crack case

Are you sure they didn't mean £130-150 to repair as their is a flat rate fee of £139 for iPhone repairs or £69 for the iPhone battery.

Nail on the head.

Took it in, chap was about to swap it, checked the warranty and said it'll be £135 as its outside warranty. For that you get a brand new iPhone as a replacement. He mentioned it'll cost over £75 to change the back cover and that just labor.

He said i can do it now or come back and do it another time, no rush to decide or if I'm due an upgrade with my contract, perhaps do it under that.

I opted to pay £135 to get a new phone, comes with 90 days warranty.

My contract is long overdue for renewal, I'm just waiting for the new iphone release so getting this new one will hopefully sell easier when that time comes considering the old one was scratched from and back, with the crack and worn round the edges, thought it was my best option.

So you have cracks around the dock connector, no other damage and they refused to replace it FOC? That's the first time I've heard of that happening and I've have been insisting to talk to the store manager if that happened to me.

Made appointment then forgot I had!

Going to see if I can go in today or tomorrow with the tiny cracks that have appeared either side of the dock connector. I'll be mentioning various sites with other people having the same problem and getting an exchange.

Last time I had a problem with an Apple product I had to print something out from the Apple site stating what I was saying before they believed me so make sure you know/have some proof that is has happened with other people!

Or take them over to one of their many macs that are on demo and do a quick google for the relevant fault :D

I'm going to the Newcastle store tomorrow at 14:00. My phone is out of warranty so I'll see how it goes. I'll probably get charged like the other guy though.

Wish me luck. :)

Sorry guys, they refused to replace my iPhone. Pretty much mint condition apart from this crack on the dock. Looks like you have to be in waranty to get a replacement now. :(

that's a bugger as mine is the same but goes up about 2cm. Was hoping for a nice new 3g to give to the Mrs when the next iphone comes out.
