Hey guys,

Followed half of Justin's guide on unlocking my iPhone but can't get the 1.1.2 update (as only 1.1.3 is available via iTunes) to complete step 3 are there any other avenues to get the update?

Gave error "5" when I tried to update it using the 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 file hmmm

edit: Stuck at 1.1.3 now, will have to wait Justin's guide to update :(

Been playing around for ages, nothing seems to work think I'll have to sort it later this week.

Doesn't help that I don't have wifi where I am either.

If you are on a non 02 contract or other network and have updated to 1.1.3 in itunes then you may be stuck there!

If your phone had 3.9 bootloader on it you will be able to do the hardware hack to downgrade the bootloader, looking at your pic you have anysim installed so i'm guessing it did have 3.9 on it :)

Once you have the official update from iTunes (1.1.3) you cannot jailbreak it.

To put it bluntly, you're waiting until 1.1.4.

(If you had 1.1.2 out of the box)
 
I managed to go from 1.13 back to 1.1.2, but I didnt upgrade to 1.1.3 via iTunes, that is where your problem lies mate.

I had o start from the begining, putting 1.1.1 back on then jailbrake, upgrade to 1.1.2 then jailbrake. Give that a go, I had to reinstall iTunes as it was giving all kinds of the wrong error messages.
 
Nope in the UK, will have to see if I can blag a replacement from Carphone Warehouse

I can't get it down to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 most of the methods I have tried don't work. Gives me errors usually in iTunes.

Have you tried reinstalling iTunes, if you have done that and you still cant downgrade to 1.1.1 then it doesnt look good mate.

How come you did the iTunes update to 1.1.3 in the first place, thats only for people with proper contracts, or did you do it by mistake?
 
Not tried reinstalling iTunes yet.

Dunno why, was trying to update to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1 and it messed up. So tried to fix it that way, an extreme error on my part.
 
What will you say to the Carphone Warehouse?
I tried jailbreaking it to work with a pay as you go sim card and I did it wrong :p
