iPhone - How to set it so email links open in default browser and not in Safari?

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 17.7.1.

I have set my default browser to Chrome within settings. However, when I get an email containing a link and click on it, the link always opens in Safari? How can I set it so that EVERYTHING reverts to working with/opening in Chrome including links within emails, instead of Safari?

Just use Safari? It's faster than Chrome, less privacy invasive, and doesn't use anywhere near as much battery.

I've got all my other kit syncing across all devices - laptop, desktop, ipad etc......and they all use Chrome

Post if you find an answer but iirc it's app dependant and Apple Mail opens links in Safari regardless of set default browser. Certainly with other mail clients, like Spark, you can set the default browser for links though.

Yes, cheers Feek. Have set my default browser in settings as Chrome. Default mail app is Apple Mail, so @visibleman may be correct with his post.
