So with my new car i have a basic cd player & radio, rubish! So with the spare bit of money i'm looking to get the iPhone plumbed in to do three things:
- charge
- make/receive calls hands free
- play music (through the speakers before anyone gets cute
)
I'm not too bothered about:
- song display through the dash
- controlling from the HU although it would be nice
I've currently got a Parrot MK6000 which handles bluetooth hands free calling & in A2DP (which the iPhone doesn't as stock) so in theory i could use that for the calls side of things and get:
A Dice / Denison style interface for the Audi Stereo @ £90 - the new Denisons seem to charge the iPhone and you get control through the HU.
Or get a new HU with direct iPod control ~£120 (plus adaptors ~£30) I know the new Alpines do charge the iPhone.... and either get one with bluetooth hands free or use the Parrot.
Finally Parrot now do the MKi9000 which basically does all the above but uses either a line in on the factory HU, or its own (small rubbish) amp for about £120 (plus an adaptor ~£24 i think)
What do people recon/what have people done?
Cheers
