iPhone library sync question

Hey guys,

I need to sync my iphone library to a new computer but I don't want to lose my stuff, most importantly, my emails.

What's the best way of approaching this, in the past I've just used winamp for my ipod but I'm now sure if this supports the iphone with its emails etc.

Are there any other alternatives?

I'm trying to do it on a different computer though; in the past, everytime I've tried to connect my ipod to a different account I've lost everything

I am in the process of doing this now. From what I have read the only thing you can do to change which computer your iPhone syncs with is to backup the iPhone on the new machine, do a nuke and then restore the backup.

I wish I knew why iTunes was so utterly gay in this respect. I shouldn't have to stick to one machine to sync stuff and I certainly should not have to wipe the contents of my iPhone! Apple make great products but they have complete tards making some of the decisions.
