iPhone on Tesco network

The Tesco billing dept said they would be willing to pay 50% of my bill...which iam still not happy about as there is no way that I made that 18hour call!

Another point....I posted my old O2 number to Tesco and I had already finished my 18month O2 contract. Do I need to contact O2 in writing to cancel my old O2 contract? It looks like it's already been cancelled by themselves tho as iam just getting no service on my old 3G handset.

Ask them how long the call was. If it was supposed to be 18 hours you would still have been mid call when you apparently made the next two calls in the list, so obviously an error on their part.

Unless I am wrong!!

Agreed, this is a shamble of a bill. Take it straight up with them as clearly this is an error.

Write a letter to someone higher up. Talking to script monkeys can only get you so far sometimes.

An update on my dead pixel.. took it back to Tesco, they agreed to swap it but didn't have stock at the time. That same day another Tesco called me saying they had stock, so I asked if I could exchange the handset I'd gotten from the first store. "No, you'll have to cancel the contract with the store and re-sign up here", they said

Took the handset back to the first Tesco again and explained the situation and they were equally shocked the other store didn't want to do a straight swap. The phone shop manager called the second Tesco and I overheard him saying "do you realise what you're doing is a sackable offence?.. just exchange it".

Now, I assume they were trying to get the commission on the sale or boost their numbers, but let's just say I told them to shove it. I was preparing to wait while the first store got stock in so we left. Literally, as the wife and I were walking out of the store the phone shop manager comes up and says that if we were prepared to drive 20 miles we could exchange the handset for a new one.

Anywaaaaaaaaay.. got to the third Tesco, swapped the handset and all is good

The end.

Cooling off period
3.1 If you change your mind after you have received your SIM Card (for purchases via www.tescomobile.com) or after you have purchased a SIM Card and, where applicable, a mobile handset in-store, you can tell us that you would like to cancel anytime within 14 days from the date of receipt of the SIM Card and, where applicable, the mobile handset (‘Cooling-off Period’) . However, this right is limited, so please see Paragraph 3.3.

3.2 If you would like to cancel your Service Agreement during the Cooling-off Period, please contact Tesco Mobile Customer Service.

3.3 If you use the Tesco Mobile Pay Monthly Service during the Cooling off Period, and you subsequently cancel your Service Agreement in accordance with this paragraph 3, you will incur the cost of any usage you have made of the Tesco Mobile Pay Monthly Service during the Cooling-off Period. All calls, texts, picture messaging and data usage will be charged at the full rate set out on www.tescomobile.com. Any inclusive or discounted rates otherwise available on your tariff will not be applied.

3.4 Cancellation will occur on the date that you notify us and we will refund any monthly tariff payments directly to your bank or credit card, depending on how you have set up your payment preference. Refunds are available in store or by calling Customer Care on 0845 301 4455.

3.5 You are required to take reasonable care of any mobile handset we provide. If you change your mind and cancel your Service Agreement in accordance with paragraph 3, please return the mobile handset in its original and undamaged packaging with all of its components. If the mobile handset is returned undamaged in its original and undamaged packaging, we will offer you a refund. If you do not return the item as instructed within 14 days of cancellation, we may make a charge in respect of the cost of recovering (or attempting to recover) the
mobile handset. If you do not return the mobile handset after our reasonable attempts to recover it, you will be deemed to have accepted the item, at which point a new purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order at the original price. This does not affect your statutory rights.

3.6 If you cancel during the cooling off period, you do not need to return the SIM to us and, following disconnection from the Tesco Mobile Pay monthly service, you may use your SIM card to connect to the Tesco Mobile Pay as you go network.

Hope that clears it up.

I was looking for that! Thanks :)

Hmmmm, cancelling today(got the phone 14days ago)I doubt will make any difference by the looks of things they will still try and charge me for the apparent calls that I made.

welshdragon.. where in Wales did you get your iPhone from?

Sorry for late reply, on honeymoon in indonesia. Got mine from Tesco Llansamlet. Though I was quite high in queue they told me that on that day the only people who got one answered the initial call advising in stock.

With the 4.1 update the carrier logo changed from "O2-UK" to "TESCO"

:/

O well, just installing the update now, as long as it doesn't say "T-value" lol.

Just fitted my speck pixel skin hd which I love. Decided not to get a screen protector given the claims for the new glass.....what do you guys think?

What do you mean about claims for the new glass mate..?

I'm in the market for an iPhone, and my old man reminded me that I can get a Tesco staff tariff, as he can give them to friends and family.

This is their deal at the moment, does it compare well?
