iPhone Question

Hi All

I'm thinking of getting an iPhone can I buy an iPhone from Apple - http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?mco=MTE2OTU for £440.40 and use it with the O2 sim only tariff with 800 mins, 1600 texts and unlimited data bolt on (£19.58 a month)? I know visual voicemail won't work other any problems?

Yes it will work fine.

All you have to do is change the Data settings from idata to mobile and MMS APN to wap and away you go.

No push services, no wifi spots, otherwise though, just money saving.

I get push notifications. Not sure where you got that idea from.

Yeah I just read that push works. Not bothered with the visual voicemail or free wifi spots. With the quidco from o2 (£100) and Apple (£13) this seems like a no brainer. Anyway, I've just ordered my sim from o2 just need to order the iPhone.

I've done exactly the same, got it all setup last night. Used the £100 cashback from O2 and 3% from Apple too. Hopefully they work.

If my maths is right

Your choice - 19.58 * 18 + 440 = 792 - 100 cashback = £692
Contract - 35 * 18 + 100 = 730 - 50 cashback = £680

If you're going to keep the phone for 18 months, contract is prob cheaper....

My choice 19.58 * 18 + 440 = 792.44 - 100 cashback o2, 13 quid apple = around 680.
Contract - 35 * 18 + 185 = 815 - 60 cashback = 755

But strictly speaking my contract is only for 12 months.

For me the key was not being tied down to any sort of long term contract, as I am on the monthly simplicity.

Looks like on the contract one you have done it for the 3G not the S.

Should be 18 x £34.26 + £184.98 = £801.66, not heard about the £50 cashback but it still makes it over £750.

I did sim only but I will probably change phone after a year.
