Hi guys...

My iPhone screen broke at work today, hairline cracks down the whole thing...

What do I do about replacements etc?

Cheers :)

By broken do you mean it doesn't work anymore, or is it simply cracked?

I know you can buy replacement backs for the iphone 4, possibly even fronts, but which model iphone is it?

It's an iPhone 4.

Screen still is useable, just with cracks spearing outdated from the front camera :(

And idroid, I have about 8 quid in my bank, how's that for skint? :p

Take it to the genius bar and plead a sob story, if you're lucky they will replace for free. Managed to get my girlfriends replaced when she broke it.

"genuine" (read that as, probably not but 99% accurate replica) replacement LCD/digitiser assemblies on a well known auction site are £45, plus you time/patience/skill to replace. Only attempt to repair if you are at least semi confident with small electronics and capable of not just ripping stuff apart. Apple should repair it for about £140 if you take it in-store but either way there is no £8 fix :(

My friend recommended this actually, she got a replacement after the mashed the silent switch too hard. Blamed apple and they gave her a new one!

Cheers guys for the replies, unfortunately I'm not very comfortable with small electronics work yet (learning ATM) so I guess I'll wait till I get paid Friday and see how it goes...

With it been an iPhone 4 don't you have any insurence at all? What would you do if you lost it?

I'm in the same boat, my white iphone 4 is insured with bank of scotland, and the've just told me the excess for iphones, and iphones only has jumped from £30 to £100!!

almost cried when i read that.
