Afternoon Gents,

At the moment I have an iPhone 3GS 16GB which i mainly use to play games on (have about 80 at the moment) as well as watching movies / TV shows.

Now as you can guess my battery depletes quite quickly which means I don't just lose my entertainment, I lose my phone!

The other problem is size - 16GB doesn't store much video. I could just decide what I want to watch that day / week but I'm hardly at home and that's where my iTunes is so if I finish watching all the movies... I can't get any more.

So, my question is... would it make sense for me to sell my iPhone and replace it with the new 64GB iPod Touch and then just get a basic phone for well phoning people?

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks :D

Sounds sensible to me. I have and ancient phone and a 64gb ipod touch as 32gb iphones are to expensive and don't quite have enough storage for me.

do it. thats wot i;ve done..

i had iphone 3g 8gb then 3gs 16gb then ipod touch 3rd gen 32gb. never regret :D
the battery life and storage is much better. i now use a £10 nokia phone.

Personally, I couldn't cope with no longer being able to go online whilst out and about (assuming the phone you buy is fairly cheap and nasty!) But if you're not much of a mobile internet user, it sounds like a good idea.

No probs, iPod Touch & wifi tether on HTC Desire - access to iTunes whenever I need it:cool:

But why wouldn't you just browse on the desire?

Screens much better and flash support?

I do browse the net on the Desire, but if I need access to the App Store or I want to buy some music while I'm on the go, then I can. But yeah, see your point. Not much use if you only want to surf the net.

I have both, because I have more money than sense.

Use the touch at home, because the battery doesn't die as soon as you switch on wireless, and for music/video when out and about. Phone for phoning and for web stuff when I'm out and about and wireless isn't accessible.

I went with a touch but probably for different reasons.

Here in Belguim the mobile data rates for phones are extremely expensive still and the phones are unbundled still (despite legislation stating otherwise) so I couldn't justify 700€ for a phone and then 30€ per month for 200 MB data (yes 200MB for 30€) ;-)
