iPhone unlocking question

I'm with O2 and got a text today saying my iPhone had been unlocked as I requested. I've plugged it into iTunes with a non-o2 sim and it's working fine.

Only problem (not really a problem :D) is that they haven't charged me yet. Aren't they meant to charge me as soon as they unlocked it?

(On PAYG BTW, So £15 charge)

Only thing is, I want to move to GiffGaff ASAP, so if I transfer within a few days and they try and take the money..well erm :D

Only way I can think I've avoided it was I called them up and did it.

Just though I'd add to this, I never was charged. Transferred the number without a hitch.

If anyone wants to unlock an iPhone, try and sumbit a request over the phone. You might get lucky.

Does anyone know if Tesco iPhones are being sent out unlocked or do they need to be unlocked manually? In my experience, Vodafone haven't been locking the phones to their network so you could put any sim in there straight out of the box, but I wonder if the same is true of Tesco mobile.
