Iphone v1 warranty woes

I'm on my 3rd Iphone now within just over the last year- the first 2 both developed screen bubbles (a known fault if you browse the net) and now my 3rd has gone the same way, with 2 small bubbles in the middle of the screen being visible.

Now in the past I have managed to walk in the apple shop and get a replacement straight away... but I have just checked on the website and it would appear the phone is not in warranty anymore. Obviously I'm pretty annoyed by the fact this is the 3rd phone to be faulty over a relatively short period of time- is there anyway (now that I am not covered by warranty) to demand another replacement / refund / free repair?

I don't particularly want an iphone v1 again as they have all gone wrong but I understand this is alsmost definately not an option. Will I be likely to get a replacement once again however? Isn't there a trading standards act that covers a faulty series of items?

I was under the impression that the warranty always started again from when you had the replacement not the original.
Thats how it worked with my MBP anyway.

Nah - your warranty is 1 year or 100* days since last repair.

* As far as I can remember from my iBook saga... I might be making this up, but I recall this number for some reason.

90 days! So if you are within that since the last repair you are golden. But I would just go in and chance your arm anyway. Apple loves to keep the impression that their stuff is hassle free. Normally after 3 lemons they treat you better... my iBook turned into a MacBook after they dropped the ball a few times. =)

7. Warranty. In servicing your product, Apple warrants (1) that service will be performed in a workmanlike manner and (2) that all parts or products used in the service will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for ninety (90) days from the date of service. This warranty is an express limited warranty. If non-conforming service is provided or a defect arises in a replacement part or product during the ninety (90) day warranty period, at its option, Apple will (1) repair the part or product, using new, used or refurbished replacement parts, or (2) replace the part or product with a new, used or refurbished equivalent part or product, or (3) refund the sums paid to Apple for the service.

It's a known issue (the bubbles).

I'd be tempted to call Apple, and demand a new iPhone. If they can't accomodate you with a V1 then you might be lucky and receive a 3G for your hassle.

If you're unlucky they might decide to send you a refurb :(

90 days comes with the phone.

But if the phone is less than 9 months old you get till its original expiration date.

So my new one is 90 days, but its actually until 19th April 2009..
