Hi

my old 18 month contract for my iphone has just ran out, and previously got an Iphone 4 sim free, I decided to go for o2 simplicity as it suited me fine and I didnt want to be tied into a long contract nor to one network for 2 years etc , but have just noticed (wasnt informed) that it no longer has the visual voicemail feature? now I arnt real fussed as I hardly ever got a voicemail, but it was a nice feature. Im on the £15 a month with £5 data, so £20 a month, was just wondering if theres anything at all I can do to regain this feature? If not, I arnt fussed, but tia :)

If you got a specific iPhone simplicity contract you should still have visual voicemail. I've been on one for the past 6 months with no issue. I'd just give them a ring, probably just a switch to flick their end.

I rang them up this morning, and infact the salesman in the O2 store set me up on a standard simplicity plan, not the Iphone one despite the paper work saying and me telling him I had an Iphone. Simple call this morning has rectified this and by tomorrow all should be changed :).

I cant of been :) the sales person on the phone told me to wait until tomorrow then reset my settings, network etc as they will all have been altered or something

visual voicemail only works on the iphone tariffs.

the only thing is, make sure you have the latest firmware on your iphone, because some revisions of the ios lose the settings for the visual voicemail.

go into, Setting>General>Network>Cellular Data Network

check if the settings for your visual voicemail is there.

if all seems fine but still not working, try texting the word 'state' to 9011, wait an hour and dial 1760, then 1750

You can try HulloMail...www.hullomail.com

It's free and it's very good...I used to work there for a bit, and did some dev on the Android version..I use it as my voicemail service now and have done for over a year.
