The only benefit is that you are putting it back to the way it was. There were some reports of people being unable to return phones due to the bootloader being incorrect.
If you took it back to a store though I can't imagine the average doofus in CPW or O2 even knowing what a bootloader was though, nevermind knowing how to check
Just for the record, mine was also 1.1.2, bought last week, pwnaged and up and running in a few minsIt's so quick if I bought another I'd be tempted to take my laptop with me and pwn it in the shop there and then
